We all have one, and sometimes we just need to be heard, yet most times, all that we have to do is simply stop talking. Please, Oh Yes, keep it simple and tell me about you.
Coral-Lei Jane
Hello, I’m Coral-Lei Jane, and I’d like to share with you a journey that has deeply shaped who I am today.
Life, as we know it, is a tapestry of experiences – some light and uplifting, others profoundly challenging. My own story is no different, and it’s these experiences that have brought me to where I am now.
In 2008, my life took an unexpected turn. What I initially thought of as a setback turned out to be a life-altering event. I encountered a severe brain virus, a traumatic experience that tested my limits in ways I never imagined. This event wasn’t just a challenge; it was a transformation.
I had graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2000, specializing in kinesiology and exercise science. My passion has always been understanding the human body – every muscle, joint, nerve, and how they all connect and affect each other. However, nothing could have prepared me for the personal insight I would gain from my own health crisis.
The virus caused significant swelling in my brain’s left hemisphere, leading to paralysis on my right side. I lost my ability to speak and even recognize my loved ones, including my four-year-old daughter. This period was undoubtedly the most challenging phase of my life.
Yet, through this intense hardship, I found a profound sense of compassion and understanding. I always thought my gift lay in being a natural athlete, someone deeply connected to their body and capable of connecting with others through physical wellness. However, this experience reshaped my perspective. It taught me empathy on a level I hadn’t known before, especially for those enduring pain and suffering.
Today, I see my journey not just as a personal narrative but as a source of strength and empathy. My experience has allowed me to connect with others on a much deeper level, understanding their struggles and triumphs in a way I couldn’t have before.
I invite you to join me in exploring how we can navigate life’s challenges with resilience, understanding, and a deep-seated compassion that only comes from personal experience.
Welcome to my world at ShivaCor.com, where every story, including yours, is valued and understood.

But my story doesn’t end there. It intertwines with my spiritual and cultural roots, adding layers to my identity and mission.
I am Métis, a proud descendant of a line rich in history and resilience. My great, great, great, great-grandfather, Cuthbert Grant, was a Medicine Man and a leader among the Métis people, riding alongside Louis Riel in the 1800s. This heritage fills me with pride and a sense of duty towards healing and community.
Being Métis, or Indigenous, is not just a part of who I am—it’s a commitment to the wellness and healing of my people, a continuation of my ancestors’ legacy.
In embracing both my personal experiences and my heritage, I’ve found a unique path to helping others. Every individual’s history is precious, and understanding it fully can be a powerful motivator in the journey to healing.
With a heart full of gratitude and understanding,
Sat Nam/ Namaste,
Coral-Lei Jane Schweigert
Why Cor, not Kaur?
My sister is an RMT from Alberta who had shortened the name Coral, a name given by my classmates in grade school, to Cor…. very endearing to me and it feels softer. Warm. Kinder.
The main reason is goes hand-in-hand with the spiritual name gifted to me as Shiva Sadhana Kaur. I took Cor as a way to accept the human, humanity, of the people.
Being human is one of the toughest things in this universe to be, and due to the tasks of living with this finite body is to be happy!
Another reason why I chose Cor is that the word itself, Core, stimulates from the inside, the place that we all need to heal from. I had incorporated a company and called it core clarity solutions inc, back in the early 2000s that I had to give up after the brain injury in 2009. I’ve always have been connected to the core reasons of what we are here to do and this constant need to evolve in order to thrive, not just survive in this human body.
Why Shiva Sadhana?
Bare with me for a moment as I expressed a bit more about who is Shiva Sadhana is to me. I love yoga with all of its beautiful parts. I first discovered yoga as a student and an athlete in 1998. I was smack dab in the middle of my Kinesiology degree, with my ego higher than ever, and I was loving everything I was learning about my body and all it can do.
I definitely found yoga interesting, and odd with all of its smells and mantras and whatnot, and then eventually I got hooked on hot yoga which had taken me even deeper into the physical realm without any spiritual finesse that I always crave.
It was after the TBI that I actually discovered the power of Kundalini Yoga and finally saw my inner truth, true Self-Realization! This took a lot of work, and it sure was not easy. It should never be easy, or else there will be another lesson is on its way. Within the physical exercises alone, then one gets to the real juicy part of the meditations that we all want to achieve… stillness of the mind and its full-on connection to the body. One cannot operate without the other, body-mind, when practicing yoga.
With daily offerings to the body-mind it takes consistency, better known as Sadhana. The best way is to find your own rhythm; taking care of the ‘self” first and then take care of others. That’s how yoga works.
Sadhana technically means disciplined and dedicated practice or learning. This is exactly what we all need to be doing; to be consistent while connecting to our bodies and nourish our minds to keep the connection strong and viable.
Shiva literally means ‘the auspicious one’ and it helps stimulate the body every morning as I see and feel the darkness that is rising out daily. With daily routines starting with Cold Therapy every morning, such as vigourously applying dry skin brushing, almond or coconut oil, and a short cold shower to revitalize the inner waking, it is here that brings in a state of humbleness to serve others.
Shiva Sadhana Kaur is the spiritual name given to me in 2018 by a kundalini guru.
“You have been blessed to live as Shiva Sadhana Kaur, the sacred Princess/Lioness who, by having a perfectly disciplined spiritual practice, overcomes any challenge bringing vitality, hope, and God’s light into the world.
“Shiva is a Name of God which represents the ability to eliminate negativity and darkness by generating new life that can reach up to embrace celestial light. Sadhana means disciplined spiritual practice. All females receive the name Kaur – the Princess/Lioness of God who walks with grace and strength throughout her life.
Use the power of your name, Shiva Sadhana Kaur, to realize your gift – that through dedication to a life based on spiritual values, you transcend all negativity bringing hope, vitality, and God’s light on the earth. Infuse each breath with the inner sound current of your name to be immersed in the vitality and integrity of this blessing. Your commitment to the disciplined practice that results in higher consciousness brings new life, opportunity, and radiance to the minds and hearts of all those around you. Experience the wonderful sound of your name as it enables you to achieve the highest fulfillment of your soul.
The power of your spiritual name is that the more you speak and hear it, the more it permeates your being, opening you to experience its NADH (universal inner sound current). Consciously merge with the vibration of the NADH to come into harmony with your highest destiny.”
